What's new in v2.7.0
Tables you can actually edit, and a vault over a project folder that can name its notes.
- Tables are editable as tables. Tab and Shift-Tab walk the cells, Enter adds a row, and Format > Table (or a right-click inside one) inserts and deletes rows and columns, aligns a column, or tidies the block. Columns re-pad when you leave the table, not while you type. The file stays plain Markdown.
- An aligned column now looks aligned when you read the note, and in an exported page - not only in the source.
- Plain Markdown vaults can name a note. The note's name is editable there now, and typing one renames the file.
- Fixes: the note title draws in full the moment a note opens; closing the main window no longer leaves Metis with no way back; opening a note no longer re-wraps the document a moment later; the Folder Color menu shows its colours again, and menu icons are back on macOS 27.
- Updating from 2.6.0 or older? You are also getting the 2.6.1-2.6.4 patches: table rules that survive a scroll in Reading, checkboxes inside table cells, notes with Windows line endings, a separate text size for the note list, and the editor's line spacing matching Reading.
